Cooder Graw's Last Performance

I am sure most of you have heard Cooder Graw play...well, the lead singer's eight year-old daughter is on Kellyn's soccer team. We have gotten to know them pretty well so we were invited to a big celebration right before New Year's. Most of the mom and dad's from the girls' soccer team rented a limo, went out to eat and then headed over to Midnight Rodeo (yes, there is still a Rodeo in Amarillo, complete with a Piranha Room) to watch Cooder Graw's last performance in Amarillo. The band is busting up due to Matt Martindale (the lead singer) wanting to be at home with his family more. Poor things, he was gone every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Now, he has decided to form his own band called the "Matt Martindale Band." He will now go back to practicing law and singing once or twice per month. They are great people and I really enjoyed hanging out with them and everyone else this fun night.

Hays is never fond of pictures, as you all know...until he has had more to drink, as you will see in a few pictures.

Since we were with the soccer group, I just had to write on the windows of the limo. It seemed very clever at the time and now, well, it's just silly. Alcohol makes me that way, most of the time.

This particular night was the night Texas Tech made the biggest comeback in bowl game history. Tech fans are not as rampant in Amarillo so when this guy came into the Rodeo, Hays told me to go take a picture with him. (The pics are out of order) Hays didn't mind taking a picture after about 4 shots of Patron.
